The Pause Between Seeing and Knowing presents analog-based photographic works that unfold through intention, material presence, and observation. Works in this exhibition reflect an awareness of photography as something that unfolds slowly, resists instant gratification, and carries the marks of the artists hand.
This exhibition is presented as a collaborative effort between the Griffin Museum of Photography and Analog Forever Magazine, two organizations united by a shared commitment to photographic artists and the enduring relevance of the medium. Together, we seek to support practices rooted in intention, craft, and thoughtful inquiry. Our goal is to create space for work that asks to be seen slowly, experienced fully, and valued for both its vision and its making. The exhibition is juried and co-curated by Michael Kirchoff, the Editor in Chief of Analog Forever Magazine.
