SUMMARY:Sociological Book Group @ The Jenks
DESCRIPTION:This book club at The Jenks\, in partnership with the Winchester
Public Library\, brings a sociological and anthropological lens to the
discussion of books. Tony Corsotino of Winchester Public Library will
lead the discussion of “Being Mortal: Medicine and What Matters in
the End” by Dr. Atul Gawande. This 2014 non-fiction bestseller
addresses end-of-life care\, hospice care and suggests that medical
care should focus on well-being rather than survival. Dr. Gawande
practices general and endocrine medicine at Brigham and Women’s
Hospital and teaches at Harvard T. H. Chan School of Public Health.
