Would you like to improve your sight-reading ability? For students who are preparing for auditions, sight-reading is often the most challenging part of the process. In this 90-minute session, WCMS teaching artist Jeanne Snodgrass (trumpet) will work with students on multiple sight-reading techniques. You will practice sight-reading patterns without instruments, as well as work on reading examples similar to those you might encounter in a live audition with your instruments. Join us for a special cinematic experience! Pianist Richard Hughes will take us back to a time when Nickelodeon theatres showed black & white flickers to the accompaniment of live piano. After an introductory talk about silent movie mood music, Richard will provide live piano accompaniment to a screening of The Cameraman, starring Buster Keaton.

This event is for students in grades 6-12. No adults, please. A silent reading party is just like it sounds - we'll have a selection of books for you to choose from, or you can bring your own, and we enjoy some together time as a group. .. completely silently, as we read.

Winchester Unitarian Society concludes its 20th annual concert season with a not-to-be-missed performance by vocalist and songwriter Lindsay Foote on Friday, March 27th. Drawing from folk, pop, indie, and Americana traditions, Lindsay crafts music of the heart - songs suffused with honesty, insight, and infectious grooves that feel both familiar and fresh.
